PS3's in-game XMB not working for all games?
According to internet reports, the PS3's in-game XMB isn't working for all games. Enchanted Arms is one such game and the Japanese version of Valkyria Chronicles is another such game. More at Neocrisis.com.

Rumor: Sonic and the Black Knight coming exclusively to Wii
A scan of what is claimed to be the cover of Nintendo Power's 20th Anniversary Issue states that it will be offering the first look at Sonic and the Black Knight. The cover also states the game will be a Wii exclusive. Nintendo Power recently set the rumor mill in motion with clues about the games they will be revealing in their 20th Anniversary Issue. Nintendo Power offered the following clues: "We're kicking off the next 20 years of Nintendo Power with more big reveals, including a top-secret cover story fit for a king. Its got a lot of heart. Just kidding. Its Mother 3. Just kidding. Please look forward to it."

Metal Gear Solid technical adviser charged with exporting firearms parts
According to the AP, Army captain Tomoaki Iishiba has been charged in a federal court with "conspiring to ship holographic, night-vision-compatible firearm sights to Japan." The report states that the army captain has "worked as an I Corps intelligence liaison to Japan’s Northeastern Army, has written a manual for the M4 rifle, has endorsed a line of knives and is credited as a technical adviser in the making of the video game Metal Gear Solid."

Armless town major to star in new video game
According to British newspaper 'The News Of The World', a town major born with no arms is set to star in a new video game. The man has developed "an incredible dexterity with his feet which he can use to peel potatoes and drive a car." His skills were spotted by British production company 'Fragment Media' who have motion captured him carrying out tasks with his feet. The man will now be transformed into an animated cartoon character for a video game. The newspaper did not offer any details about the video game. Fragment Media highlights on its website that one of their authors has has worked on several games, including 'Hidden and Dangerous' and 'Vietcong', for Take2games amongst others.

European manages to access the USA Video Store
Maxconsole reader Komp wrote in to let us know that he has spent 3 days working out how to get his EU connected PS3 to gain access to the USA Video Store. He hasn't tried purchasing any content yet and the video below is just to show that it is possible for Europeans to access the Video Store.

Jack Tretton, the President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of America (SCEA), has said that he cares about the unknown guys that respond on blogs and trash something he has said. It’s tough to make everyone in your family love you let alone everyone in the world. It’s the price of admission but yeah it freaks me out. said Tretton.

The Conduit looking good at 30 fps
High Voltage Software shown The Conduit in action at E3 this year and the game apparently "looked good while rarely dipping below 30 frames-per-second, even during heavy action scenes."

Man punches kids for beating him at Halo 3
According to The Rurland Herald, "a West Hartford man denied charges that a violent video game drove him to violence against children." According to the the two children involved, they had been playing Halo 3 with the man and "every time one of the boys killed Barr's character he would punch the boy in the arm." The man admitted he punched the boys but blamed it on alcohol (not the video game) and said he did not realize how hard he was hitting them.

Wii Dead Rising will be easier to play
According to a translation of Famitsu's Dead Rising for Wii feature, the game will be called 'Dead Rising: Zombie Sacrifice' in Japan and will have new features and expanded gameplay. They hope these features, along with making the game easier to play, will make it appeal more to the casual gamer. The Wii version of the game will also feature a "behind-the-shoulder camera system modeled after Resident Evil 4's" and motion controls.
Rock Band DLC: Nine Inch Nails and Shinedown
Harmonix and MTV Games announced today the addition of Nine Inch Nails and Shinedown to the Rock Band Music Store. Available July 22, the NIN three-pack includes "Burn”, “Capital G” and “Last”. Each track will be available for $1.99 per track (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) or $5.49 (440 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) for the three-pack. Shinedown's “Devour” and “Junkies For Fame” are also available.

Two Hendrix tracks confirmed for Guitar Hero, others coming as DLC
According to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Guitar Hero: World Tour will feature Jimi Hendrix songs 'The Wind Cries Mary' and a live version of 'Purple Haze' that was recorded in 1969. They say that other Hendrix songs will be available as DLC in the future. Sample the tracks in the forums.

Vavle have new products in development for X360, not interested in PS3 or Wii
Valve's Doug Lombardi has told OXM that Valve has "new products in development for 360, but still isn't interested in PS3 or Wii." Lombardi also said that the XBLA version of Portal: Still Alive would be the same as the original game but with "a series of new challenges".
